Anthony A. Joyce, III, has been promoted to President & Chief Executive Officer for Chelsea Groton Bank, and an additional 25 employees also received promotions following a Board of Trustees meeting.
A lifelong resident of Southeastern Connecticut, Joyce has 40 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Chelsea Groton, he worked for many years at Norwich Savings Society and People’s United Bank. He joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2013 as Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending Manager, and was promoted to Executive Vice President, Senior Loan Manager in 2017. In 2020, he was named Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.
Joyce is a Trustee of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT and serves on the boards of directors for Hartford Healthcare East Region, Connecticut Bankers Association, and Catholic Charities of Norwich. He is on the finance committees of Hartford Healthcare and the Diocese of Norwich. He formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Backus Hospital, as a member of the Hartford Healthcare Board of Directors, and as the Treasurer for the Norwich Community Development Corporation. Joyce earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut, an MBA from the University of New Haven, and is a graduate of the National School of Banking.

Michael Sheahan of Wolcott, CT, has been promoted to Chief Lending Officer and will have responsibility for the Bank’s commercial lending, retail lending, and credit departments. Sheahan began his career at Ernst & Young. He then joined Shawmut Bank, serving as CFO of the Mortgage Company and went on to become the Group Financial Officer in the Consumer Lending division. He took on roles of increasing responsibility at CenterBank Mortgage Company, Harland Financial Solutions, Webster Financial, and Simsbury Bank and Trust. Sheahan joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2013 as the Senior Vice President/Retail Lending Manager and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2018. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Finance. He has served on the Board and the Affordable Housing Committee of the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association as well as on the Board of the Southeastern Connecticut Housing Alliance.
Kristin Zummo of East Lyme, CT, has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Director of Strategy and Organizational Development, responsible for the Bank’s business intelligence and learning and development departments. Zummo will also continue in her role as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer. Prior to joining Chelsea Groton as the Learning and Development Manager in 2019, she led training and employee development at Electric Boat. In 2022, she was named First Vice President/Director of Business Intelligence. Zummo has a bachelor’s degree from Messiah University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Mansfield University. She is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society for Human Resource Management. In 2019, Zummo received the Chelsea Award and in 2021, she was recognized as a “New Leader in Banking” by the Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA). She served on the CBA Leadership Development Program Curriculum Committee and is a Community Educator for the CGB Small Business Series. She volunteers with the East Lyme Soccer Association, the Mystic & Noank Library, and Lasagna Love of CT.
Marie Carmenati of Groton, CT, Retail Lending Underwriter Manager, has been promoted to First Vice President. Carmenati has 25 years of experience in Chelsea Groton’s retail lending underwriting department. She is a graduate of Fordham University, the Connecticut School of Finance and Management, and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Leadership program. She serves on the boards of Seabird and Martin Luther King Scholarship Committees, is a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Groton and serves as the committee co-chair for the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Underwriting Committee.
Barb Curto of Mystic, CT, Marketing Manager, has been promoted to First Vice President. Prior to joining Chelsea Groton in 2015, Curto worked at the Karma Agency in Philadelphia. She has a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication from Villanova University. She graduated from the CT School of Finance and Management in 2019 and completed ABA Marketing School in 2021. Curto was awarded a 2019 “Women of Fire” bankers award and named a “New Leader in Banking” by the Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA) in 2021. She is a member of the New England Financial Marketing Association’s communications committee, serves on the CBA Quarterly editorial advisory committee, was recently elected to the board of Better Business Bureau CT, and volunteers with Groton Youth Soccer.
Alexis Kahn of North Stonington, CT, Cash Management Sales Manager, has been promoted to First Vice President. Kahn joined the Bank in 2017 as a Business Banking Officer, bringing with her cash management and relationship management experience as a corporate banker and relationship manager for Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in New York. In 2020, Alexis was promoted to Cash Management Sales Manager. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. Kahn graduated from the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2021 and is currently enrolled in the Connecticut School of Finance and Management. She is a recipient of the Independent Community Bankers Association “40 Under Forty” award. Kahn serves as the Chair of the Town of North Stonington’s Sustainability Committee, is a member of Fairview’s Gala Planning Committee, is a Rotarian in the Norwich Rotary Club, and volunteers weekly for The Light House Homestead and Stables.
Matthew Morrell of East Hampton, CT, Retail Lending Sales Manager, has been promoted to First Vice President. Prior to joining Chelsea Groton in 2014, Morrell held management and residential lending positions at People’s Bank, United Mortgage Finance Group, American Eagle Federal Credit Union, and Simsbury Bank. He earned his MSA from Albertus Magnus College. Morrell was named a “New Leader in Banking” by the Connecticut Bankers Association in 2017. He regularly volunteers his time in the community.
William Mundell of Colchester, CT, Digital Services Manager, has been promoted to First Vice President. Bill joined the Bank in 2017, after nine years at Peoples Bank in IT and electronic services. Mundell is a graduate of American International College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management of Information Systems and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration. He also holds the designation of Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and was named a “New Leader in Banking” by the Connecticut Bankers Association in 2023. He volunteers as a Chelsea Educator, with Jonnycake Center of Hope, and the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut.
Harry Colonis of Waterford, CT, Business Development Officer, has been promoted to Vice President. Colonis has held sales and business development roles at Chelsea Groton for 27 years, and currently manages a portfolio of 775 business accounts. Colonis earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University. He is an active volunteer in the community, and serves on the Board of Directors of United Cerebral Palsy Association of Eastern CT.
Jennifer Eastbourne of Gales Ferry, CT, Financial Services Program Coordinator, has been promoted to Vice President. She joined the Financial Services Department in 2013 and holds FINRA Series 7, 66 and Connecticut Insurance licenses, designating her as both a securities agent and an investment advisor representative. Eastbourne earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Liberal Studies from Westfield State College and was a recipient of the 2015 Chelsea Award. Eastbourne is a member of the Town of Ledyard Beautification Committee and Madonna Place Ambassador Group. She also volunteers with the Ledyard Food Pantry, Ledyard Chain, Habitat for Humanity, the PTO, and Girl Scouts of Connecticut, where she is a troop leader of junior scouts as well as co-service unit manager of all troops in the Ledyard, Preston and Gales Ferry communities.
Mario Siciliano of Westerly, RI, Technology Operations Manager, has been promoted to Vice President. He joined Chelsea Groton in 2016 and has been instrumental in the development of technology at the Bank. Siciliano has a degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, from the New England Institute of Technology. He graduated from the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership program and is currently enrolled in the Connecticut School of Finance and Management.
Marielle Winkelman of Ledyard, CT, Regional Sales and Services Manager, has been promoted to Vice President. She joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2014 bringing with her retail branch management experience from a regional financial institution. In 2017, Winkelman was promoted to the Waterford Branch Manager and, in 2022, was named Regional Sales and Service Manager for the greater Norwich market. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University in Business Administration and is a 2019 graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management. She is currently enrolled in the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership program and was a recipient of the Chelsea Award in 2020. Winkelman is a member of the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals group and is an active volunteer in her community.
June Holaday of North Kingstown, RI, Assistant to the President, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Holaday joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2017 and provides administrative support to the President and CEO, the Board of Trustees, and the Bank’s Corporators, while also managing the Chelsea Groton Foundation. She is a graduate of Villanova University and has held prior roles in marketing at several companies. She was the recipient of the Chelsea Award in 2018. Holaday is actively involved in the North Kingstown Community Chorus, reads for CRIS radio for the blind, and volunteers for other bank-sponsored and community events.
Jason Levine of Canterbury, CT, Technology Services Specialist II, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Levine joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2022, as a seasoned technology services professional with previous experience at Novus Insight Inc. and The Day Publishing Company. He attended the University of Connecticut, has been a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer since 2001, and has accrued several other IT certifications. Levine has served on the Canterbury Board of Finance since 2021 and has served on other town committees since 2019.
Damen Norton of Groton, CT, Lending Compliance and Encompass Administrator, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Damen joined Chelsea Groton in 2018 as the Loan Servicing Team Lead after working in compliance at a regional financial institution. He was soon promoted to his current role. Norton graduated from the CT School of Finance and Management in 2012 and he is Lending Compliance certified through the American Bankers Association. Norton currently serves on the Groton Scholarship Fund Committee, as well as the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association’s Affordable Housing Committee.
Elizabeth Owen of Norwich, CT, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President/Lead Senior Credit Analyst and Sageworks Administrator. Owen joined the Bank in 2010 as a temporary employee and has since held varying roles of increasing responsibility in loan servicing and credit. She continues to work towards achieving her undergraduate degree, with an expected completion date of 2024. Owen completed the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership program, and in 2017 received the Chelsea Award. She serves as Treasurer for the Groton Scholarship Fund.
Jennifer Willingham of North Stonington, CT, Cash Management Officer, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Willingham has been with the Bank for 15 years, initially in branch management roles. In 2021, she joined the Cash Management department. She was a recipient of the Chelsea Spirit Award in 2013. Willingham earned an AS in Business Administration from Three Rivers Community College, graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2017, anticipates completing the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce (GNACC) Leadership program in February, and has earned several certifications and diplomas from the Center for Financial Training. She has served for many years on the Board of Directors of Horses Healing Humans and is the current Treasurer of the Norwich Historical Society. She also is a member of the Women’s Business Development Council’s Review Committee for the Equity Match Grant Program and is an ambassador for GNACC.
Nicole Goodrow of Niantic, CT, Waterford Customer Solutions Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Goodrow joined the Bank as a teller in the Groton branch, and has taken on roles of increasing responsibility, recently assuming the leadership role as Customer Solutions Manager in the Waterford branch. Goodrow was a recipient of the Chelsea Award in 2021. She completed the Norwich Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and volunteers in the Waterford community.
Megan Susi of Waterford, CT, Salem Customer Solutions Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Susi joined the Bank as a teller in 2014. She became an assistant manager in Center Groton and then Mystic, before recently being named manager of the Salem branch. Susi completed her associate degree in Business Management from Three Rivers Community College and is a 2021 graduate of the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership program. She is the 2017 recipient of the Chelsea Award. Susi is a member of the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group and is an active volunteer in her community.
Becky Jacoinski of Westerly, RI, Benefits and Wellness Specialist, has been promoted to Assistant Treasurer. Jacoinski joined the Bank in 1995 and held various roles in lending and customer service before transitioning to Human Resources. She currently oversees employee benefits and all wellness programming. Jacoinski graduated from the CT School of Finance and Management in 2001 and was a 2015 Chelsea Award recipient. She is Secretary and Co-Chair of the Programs Committee for the Westerly Historical Society.
Krissa Beene of Quaker Hill, CT, Marketing Specialist, has been promoted to Assistant Secretary. Beene joined the Bank in 2017, after working in the non-profit world, most recently at Child & Family Agency of Southeastern CT. She chairs the Bank’s United Way committee and is the communications co-chair of One Chelsea, the Bank’s diversity equity and inclusion committee. Beene obtained her bachelor’s degree in Art Management from Ramapo College of New Jersey, and she has successfully completed her first year of the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Leadership program. Beene serves on the board of the Hygienic Art and actively participates in many bank-sponsored and community events.
Christen Brewer of Norwich, CT, Graphic Design & Digital Specialist, has been promoted to Assistant Secretary. Brewer joined Chelsea Groton in 2019, with many years of design and marketing experience. In addition to her role on the Marketing team, she is co-chair of ENGAGE, the Bank’s employee engagement committee. Brewer received an associate degree from Mitchell College in Graphic Design/Fine Arts. She actively volunteers at bank-sponsored community activities, is a Board member of St. Vincent de Paul Place, and teaches Chelsea University digital marketing classes as well as the Chelsea Cooks program.
Rebecca Dambach of North Franklin, CT, Loan Delivery & Quality Control Analyst, has been promoted to Assistant Secretary. Dambach joined Chelsea Groton in 2017, and after leaving briefly to pursue a position in her field of study (Accounting), she returned to the loan servicing department. Dambach serves as co-chair of ENGAGE, the Bank’s employee engagement committee, and she is the chair of the Groton Scholarship Fund Committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from the New England Institute of Business at Cambridge College.
Heather Gumlaw of Stonington, CT, Loan Servicing Assistant Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Secretary. Gumlaw joined the Bank’s retail banking team in 2014, with over a decade of banking experience. She transferred to the loan servicing department in 2015, where she’s taken on roles of increasing responsibility. Gumlaw has completed several courses through the Center for Financial Training and the Bank’s Leadership Program. She volunteers for bank-sponsored events in the community.
Lisa Lamphere of Quaker Hill, CT, Commercial Lending Assistant, has been promoted to Assistant Secretary. She joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 1995 in retail banking. She transferred to the commercial loan team in 2003 and has held various roles in credit and loan servicing until being named a Commercial Lending Assistant in 2022. Lamphere earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph College. She graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance & Management in 2008, completed the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program in 2009, and earned Commercial Lending and Mortgage Lending diplomas from the Center for Financial Training. Lamphere is a member of the United Way Allocations Committee and volunteers with Labs4Rescue.
Christine Lataille-Santiago of Windham, CT, Human Resources Specialist, has been promoted to Assistant Secretary. Lataille-Santiago joined the Bank in 2021 with over 20 years of banking experience, 10 years of which were spent working with payroll and benefits. She has taken many courses from the Center for Financial Training and attended Manchester Community College. She volunteers with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the American Red Cross blood drives, and the Lebanon Country Fair exhibition building.
